AR Readymix's new plant features a Concrete Recovery System and the new Knelson Concrete aggregate Classifier (KCC) (picture above). The KCC is a spiral classifier custom-designed for the purpose of recovering concrete and engineered to meet the rigorous challenges of operating in an environment with partially hydrated cement.

BYRON, California - Commissioning has begun for the first full-package concrete packaged solution of Knelson's Concrete Recovery System (CRS) and the new Knelson Concrete Classifier (KCC) to AR Readymix's Byron, California plant located just outside of San Francisco.

This CRS model, the Knelson ZD-515 Concrete Recovery System, is designed to service operations with 5 to 15 trucks and capture, store, manage and recycle the returned concrete and washout material.

The AR Readymix CRS features the new Knelson concrete aggregate classifier (KCC), a spiral classifier custom-designed for the purpose of recovering concrete and engineered to meet the rigorous challenges of operating in an environment with partially hydrated cement. The KCC is designed to provide fine aggregate recovery up to #200 mesh, while allowing fine cement and fly ash to report to the storage tank for reuse in the mixing water.

AR Readymix has also chosen a drive-over grate for their washout station in an effort to maximize driver efficiency. This configuration enables drivers to remain in their vehicle throughout washout, activating the rinse cycle from the driver's seat.

The plant is expected to be operational later this year, after which Knelson plans to host an open house for those interested in observing the AR Readymix Concrete Recovery System (CRS) and their continuous process production facility first-hand.

More details will follow on the open house, however those interested in attending can forward their contact information to Knelson Concrete Systems at kcs@knelson.com.

AR Readymix has nine plants in the central California area and is a subsidiary of RMC Pacific Materials.

Knelson Concrete Systems (KCS), a division of Knelson, provides the ready-mix concrete industry with "Continuous Process" solutions for concrete waste management. KCS's mainstay technology, the Concrete Recovery System (CRS) provides a comprehensive solution for the ready-mix concrete producer by allowing producers to move away from waste management, and into material recovery by converting waste products into value-added material to be consumed back into fresh ready-mix.
